Jigongcheng Site

The Jigongcheng Site is a protected cultural heritage site under Hubei Provincial Government.

Jigongcheng Site

Located in Xutian Village, LiuZhi Subdistrict, Huangpi District, Wuhan City, the site dates back to the Shang-Zhou and Northern and Southern Dynasties periods. It consists of a walled settlement and an adjacent elevated terrace outside the city. The walled area is oval-shaped, approximately 175 meters long from north to south, 150 meters wide from east to west, covering an area of about 25,000 square meters, with a cultural layer about 2 meters thick. The city wall rises 1 to 2 meters above the surrounding land, with the surviving top width of the wall measuring 8 to 10 meters. Cultural remains are also found on the “Lianyuzhui” terrace, located about 100 meters southeast of the city. This site holds significant value for the study of Wuhan’s history and culture.
