Guide: Travel downstream along the Qingjiang River to reach Water Lotus Cave. The river water is as green as satin, offering beautiful scenery and a poetic atmosphere. Alternatively, you can travel upstream from Sandu Gorge, where towering peaks on both banks, shimmering waves, and reflections of the mountains create a picturesque landscape. Continue to San Shui, where you’ll switch boats to enter the cave. Highlights: The Guanyin Cave inside the site was originally built in the first year of the Tongzhi reign during the Qing Dynasty and has a long history. Take a boat ride inside the cave while enjoying folk songs sung by local Tujia girls — a delightful experience. Paddle around outside the cave to enjoy the idyllic rural scenery, which is refreshing and leaves visitors lingering in awe. Introduction: Water Lotus Cave is located in the headwaters area of the Qingjiang River, a tributary of the Yangtze River, about 11 kilometers from downtown Lichuan. The cave features elegance, beauty, wonder, and ingenuity, and is 18 kilometers away from the world-class Tenglong Cave. With an underground river stretching 20 kilometers, the cave boasts unique landscapes, combining water caves and dry caves. It mainly consists of five caves, four bridges, three halls, one pavilion, and one palace. There are mountains within the cave, caves on the mountains, water inside the cave, and even rare transparent fish in the water. The cave remains cool in summer and warm in winter, offering a pleasant climate. Transportation: Buses to the major scenic area are available at the Lichuan Bus Station. Ticket/Opening Hours: 40 RMB
