The Former Site of the Front Committee of the CCP Western Hunan–Hubei Soviet is a cultural relic protection unit of Hubei Province and a classic red tourism destination.

Former Site of the Front Committee of the CCP Western Hunan–Hubei Soviet

Located on Lower Huatai Street, Laowuji, Zhonglu Town, Lichuan City. In December 1928, He Long led his troops to Lichuan, where he joined Yang Weifan, secretary of the CCP (Enshi) Shihe (Feng) Department, and a joint meeting was held here. It was decided to change the “Front Committee of the CCP Western Hunan” to the “Front Committee of the CCP Western Hunan–Hubei Soviet,” with He Long as secretary. The site was originally the Temple of Lord Zhang, built in the Qing Dynasty and reconstructed in the early years of the Republic of China. It consists of a main hall with two side wings, covering a construction area of 700 square meters. The central hall has four rows and three bays, with a depth of 7.7 meters and a width of 14 meters. It features a flush-gable roof and wooden structure. This site is an important physical testament to the development of the Western Hunan–Hubei Revolutionary Base Area. (Fifth Batch)
