Jingjiacheng Site — A key cultural relic protection unit of Hubei Province. Located in Fu Huang Village, Mao Li Town, it is a Neolithic site dating back 6,000 to 6,500 years. The site is situated on a natural earthen ridge to the west, with flat rice paddies stretching out to the east, south, and north. Positioned about 8 meters above the surrounding paddies, the elevated flatland resembles a castle rising from the plains, which is why locals have long referred to it as “Jingjiacheng” (Jing Family City). The site has gateways on all four sides, known as East City Slope, South City Slope, West City Slope, and North City Slope. In early times, the east, south, and north sides were low-lying areas that likely resembled a moat (Zhou River), and a pier with a bridge was built in the southwest to facilitate passage. Stone tools such as polished stone axes, adzes, chisels, as well as pottery items like jars, bowls, beans, and cups have been unearthed from the surface of the site.
