The Shennongjia Tourist Ski Resort is located at Jiuhuping, Shennongjia, at an altitude of 2,000 meters. It is a tourist ski resort in southern China, featuring beginner and intermediate downhill ski slopes with gradients of 5 to 15 degrees. A drag lift takes skiers from the mountaintop in an “S” shape through the woods and winds, offering a thrilling yet safe experience full of fun. It attracts large numbers of visitors every year.

The ski reception hall covers an area of 3,000 square meters and includes facilities such as a ski equipment room, a coffee shop, a fast-food restaurant, a ski shop, a first aid room, and a ski school. Visitors can hire ski instructors. The resort is equipped with large and small drag lifts, imported snow-making systems, snow grooming machines, snowmobiles, and ski gear. It offers a wide range of exciting snow activities including skiing, snow tubing, snowmobiling, sheep-pulled sledges, sledding, and snow cycling.

Travel Tips: 1. The Shennongjia Ski Resort does not offer helmet or goggle rentals, so be sure to practice the correct way to fall in advance. Skiers with poor eyesight should avoid wearing contact lenses, as they are almost impossible to find if lost during a fall. It’s best to wear resin-lens glasses with frames, which are less likely to shatter upon impact.

2. Upon entering the ski area from the service hall, you’ll face a steep slope, so it’s advisable to carry your skis and poles and walk down the grassy slopes on either side to reach the training area; otherwise, you’re likely to fall.

3. Carefully observe the height, width, length, gradient, and direction of each ski run. Choose a slope that matches your skill level—never overestimate your ability and act recklessly. Progress gradually, and it’s best to hire a ski instructor, especially for beginners.
