The Snake Lawn Residential House is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Hubei Province.

Snake Lawn Residential House

The Snake Lawn Residential House is located in Panlong Village, Songluo Township, Shennongjia Forest District. Built during the Qing Dynasty, it consists of two residential buildings—Upper Section and Lower Section—which share a largely similar structure. Both face south, feature a courtyard layout, and are constructed with brick and wood, topped with single-sloped tiled roofs. The Lower Section covers an area of approximately 715 square meters, with a built-up area of about 1,000 square meters. The Upper Section also covers around 715 square meters in land area and about 1,000 square meters in built-up area. This building is one of the earliest and most intact residential structures still existing in the Shennongjia Forest District, serving as a valuable example for the study of local traditional architecture.
