Tomb of Feng Jing

The Tomb of Feng Jing is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Tomb of Feng Jing is located to the south of Wuhumiao Village, Quliang Town, Xinmi City. The former Henan Provincial Cultural Relics Research Institute conducted an excavation and cleanup of the tomb. The excavation confirmed that it is the joint burial site of Feng Jing and his three wives, consisting of a tomb passage and a burial chamber. There is currently no visible mound on the ground.

Feng Jing (1021–1094) was a renowned statesman of the Northern Song Dynasty, with the courtesy name Dangshi, hailing from Jiangxia in Ezhou (present-day Wuchang, Hubei). He passed the imperial examination and served as Academician of the Longtu Pavilion and Prefect of Yangzhou during Emperor Renzong’s reign. He also held positions such as Hanlin Academician and Prefect of Kaifeng, and was dispatched to pacify Shaanxi and govern Taiyuan. During Emperor Shenzong’s reign, he was promoted to Vice Minister of the Privy Council and later to Vice Chancellor. He opposed Wang Anshi’s reform policies and was subsequently appointed as Prefect of Bozhou (present-day Bozhou, Anhui) and then Prefect of Chengdu. Emperor Shenzong later recalled him to the capital. In August of the first year of Shaosheng during Emperor Zhezong’s reign (1094), he was buried in the ancestral cemetery at Nanzhu Village, Yitai Township, Mian County, Henan Prefecture, where his three wives were also interred.

Wuhumiao Village: Located at the prime junction where the urban area of Zhengzhou, Quliang Township of Xinmi City, and Guodian Town of Xinzheng City meet, Wuhumiao Village in Quliang Township, Xinmi City, enjoys a distinct geographical advantage. It lies east of National Highway 107 and west of the Zhengshi Expressway. The village currently has a population of 2,100, with 69 Party members, covering a land area of 2,886 mu, including 500 mu for enterprise use, 400 mu for nursery land, and 1,986 mu of arable land.

Wuhumiao Village consists of 10 villager groups divided between two natural villages. The village maintains a clean appearance and has well-developed rural infrastructure.
