Huiyang Academy

Huiyang Academy is a cultural relic protection unit of Zhengzhou City.

Huiyang Academy is located on Laocheng Back Street in Dongjie Village, Chengguan Town, Xinmi City. Facing south, it was first built in the 40th year of the Qianlong reign (1775) and has undergone multiple renovations since. Covering a construction area of 5,400 square meters, the academy features a three-courtyard layout and currently retains structures such as the main gate, study rooms, lecture halls, self-study rooms, and side chambers. Within the courtyard are two stone tablets: one from the 40th year of the Qianlong reign in the Qing Dynasty inscribed with “Joint Record of the Reconstruction of Zhuojun Temple and the Establishment of Rui Chun Academy,” and another from the 3rd year of the Daoguang reign (1823) inscribed with “Record of the Shrine at Huiyang Academy.” The academy is well laid out and preserved, and is the only remaining academy building in Xinmi City, boasting significant historical and artistic value.
