The Suzhai Site

The Suzhai Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Zhengzhou City.

The Suzhai Site is located on a high terrace on the north bank of the Wei River in Suzhai Village, Laiji Town, Xinmi City. It is bounded by cliffs on the east, west, and south sides, stretching 300 meters from east to west and 200 meters from north to south, covering an area of 60,000 square meters. Stone tools, pottery fragments, animal bones, and other artifacts have been preserved on the site surface, within cultural layers, and in ash pits. This site is a settlement from the Longshan Culture period of the Neolithic Age as well as the Xia Dynasty. The Suzhai Site boasts rich cultural content and substantial stratigraphic deposits, holding certain value for the study of the cultural characteristics of the Longshan Culture period and the Xia Dynasty.
