Ruimu Terrace Ruins

The Ruimu Terrace Ruins are a cultural relic protection unit of Zhengzhou City.

The Ruimu Terrace Ruins are located on a ridge southwest of Taigang Village, Liuzhai Town, Xinmi City. Also known as the General Appointment Terrace, legend has it that the Yellow Emperor appointed Ruimu as a general here, hence the name. The terrace is 15 meters high and consists of four layered platforms from top to bottom, all built from rammed earth. It measures 145 meters from east to west and 133 meters from north to south, covering an area of 20,000 square meters. Building materials such as tubular tiles, flat tiles, and broken bricks are preserved on the surface of the ruins and within the rammed layers.

This site is a large-scale activity site from the Eastern Zhou period. With its vast rammed area, distinct rammed layers, and rich cultural content, it holds certain value for studying the cultural features of the Eastern Zhou period.

Liuzhai Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Xinmi City. The Liuzhai Commune was established in 1964, restructured as a township in 1984, and upgraded to a town in 1996. Located in the eastern part of the city, it is 20 kilometers from the municipal government. Covering an area of 64 square kilometers with a population of 41,000, it is traversed by the Qimi Highway and the Songda Railway. The town administers 20 village committees: Wangzui, Xinzhai, Laozhai, Zhao’gou, Dongzhangzhuang, Yuanlin, Liuzhai, Xiaolizhai, Cuigang, Lvlou, Ximazhuang, Songzhai, Dongmazhuang, Wang’gou, Balicha, Ligang, Shuizhuyuan, Zhaogui’gang, Guanyintang, and Liuwo.
