The Red Stone Forest Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The Red Stone Forest Scenic Area is located in Jianshan Village and Niuxinshi Village under the administration of Jian Mountain Scenic Area Management Committee in Xinmi City, covering an area of approximately 5 square kilometers. It is just 6 kilometers from the Xinmi West Exit of the Zhengshaoluo Expressway. As the largest cluster of stone forest landscapes and a heritage site of Fuxi culture in the Central Plains region.

From a distance, the Red Stone Forest presents a breathtaking panorama of undulating peaks, grand and imposing. Stepping into the Red Stone Forest is like unrolling a magnificent historical scroll. The scenic area features uniquely shaped rocks and towering stone pillars that stand like a forest. The stone forest landscapes on the eastern and western sides vary greatly in style, leaving visitors in awe. The Red Stone Forest embodies the bold and unrestrained spirit of the north while also exuding the delicate and graceful charm of the south. Wandering through it, you’ll find a rocky forest composed of countless stone peaks, columns, sprouts, and stalagmites, resembling a collection of potted landscapes. From afar, the undulating terrain is imposing; up close, the arrangement is intricate and lifelike, constantly challenging the imagination of every visitor. Atop the mountain stands the Huaxia Ancestor Stone, with statues of Fuxi and Nuwa, symbolizing the origin of the five-thousand-year-old Chinese civilization and witnessing the ancient cultural legacy of the Qin and Wei regions.

Entering through the visitor center at the foot of Fuxi Mountain, you can reflect on ancient times at HuiMeng Bridge, express your feelings by XiaoYu Lake, or explore the HuiMeng Stockade to catch a glimpse of the historical aura of the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods. Passing through the South Heavenly Gate, you can acknowledge your ancestors before the Ancestor Stone and trace your roots in the Fuxi Palace. The 6,000-square-meter Fuxi Square has become a sacred site for Chinese descendants to worship their ancestors. Stay in a cliffside hotel and gaze at the starry sky, with the city’s hustle and bustle spread out below; ascend to the top of the Buxian Pavilion to admire the high clouds and shifting stars; walk along the ancient wooden plank trails for leisurely spring outings; or take the high-altitude cable car to overlook the most stunning views of the stone forest—your journey of exploring roots, seeking adventures, will be filled with endless joy and wonderful memories.
