The entire station is divided into upper and lower levels: the upper level serves as a distribution hall with five entrances/exits, while the lower level houses the platforms. The western wall of the station hall, clad in light yellow ceramic tiles, features a massive mural titled “Exhibition of World Architecture,” covering a total area of 150 square meters. The station lighting primarily consists of recessed fixtures that mimic natural light, making the space feel like an exquisitely designed underground art palace.

The underground substation beneath People's Square is one of the world’s most remarkable large-scale substations and also the first ultra-high voltage, high-capacity urban underground substation in China. Located at the southeast corner of People's Square, it features a five-story reinforced concrete cylindrical structure. The base is 18.6 meters deep, with an inner diameter of 58 meters and a building area of 9,400 square meters, where the main equipment is installed.
