Xianghe Water Park was built in 1950 and opened to the public in 1951. Covering an area of 194.94 hectares, it is the largest comprehensive park in Xianghe County, Langfang City. Its defining feature is that the entire park consists of three main lakes—eastern, western, and southern—as well as 11 islands scattered across the lakes, which is why it is called a water park. The scenery blends the charm of the Jiangnan style with the ambiance of the north, and the park is home to 60,000 trees. Within the park, there are various “gardens within the garden,” such as the classical-style architectural complex “Bibo Manor,” the “Bonsai Garden” that showcases rare potted plants, and the “Kobe Garden,” which was jointly built with Kobe City in Japan. Climbing to the highest point in the park—the 27-meter-tall “Tiaoyuan Pavilion”—you can enjoy a panoramic view of the entire park. The park also offers a variety of amusement facilities and restaurants serving local specialties. In the southern part of the park lies the expansive Tianjin Zoo, which houses over 100 species of rare animals, including giant pandas and golden snub-nosed monkeys.
