May 1st Park

The predecessor of May 1st Park was the Provincial Workers' Cultural Palace, which opened to the public as early as 1956. Due to its proximity to major state-owned enterprises such as cotton mills, it enjoyed a prime location and had long been an important venue for leisure activities among workers in the western suburbs. In 2002, the government transformed the western section of the cultural palace into the present-day May 1st Park. Today, the park features a sports field with lush green lawns, shady trees, singing birds, flowers blooming three seasons of the year, and greenery all four seasons. Integrating culture, sports, and leisure, it has become an ideal place for residents of Xianghe to relax and stay fit.
