Luban Ridge

It came to be known as Luban Ridge because Luban often cut timber here. As the highest point in the scenic area, Luban Ridge stands at an elevation of 2,153 meters and serves as the boundary ridge between three counties—Song County, Lushan County, and Nanhe County—as well as three cities—Luoyang, Pingdingshan, and Nanyang. The Luban Ridge scenic area is filled with beautiful legends about Luban. Here you’ll find ancient forests, a sea of clouds like a fairyland, the whispering of pine winds, and endless birch woods. Locals also call the mountain peak that Luban often climbed “Luban Peak.” The spot where he watched the sunrise is affectionately referred to as “Luban’s Viewing Platform.” Luban composed and conceived the *Luban Book* while meditating in Muzha Ridge, even pondering it while ascending and descending the mountain, until he finally completed it.
