Checun Town is located in the core area of the Funiu Mountains in the southern part of Song County, at the junction of Luoyang, Nanyang, and Pingdingshan. It is 80–110 kilometers away from the county seats of seven counties: Song County, Luanchuan, Ruyang, Xixia, Nanzhao, Neixiang, and Lushan. The town covers a total area of 556 square kilometers, making it the largest town in Henan Province by land area. It governs 26 administrative villages, 381 villager groups, 14,728 households, and a population of 53,000.
