Guozhai Guanyin Stone Carving Statues

The Guozhai Guanyin Stone Carving Statues are a cultural tourism attraction.

Located in Guozhai Village, Menggang Township, 3 kilometers east of the county town, these statues were designated as a county-level cultural relic protection unit in 1986. There are a total of 11 statues, including Guanyin, arhats, Guan Yu, Zhou Cang, Guan Ping, the Earth God, and the God of Wealth. Among them, the Guanyin statue, riding a mythical beast, features a kind expression, elegant design, lifelike image, and striking realism. The carvings are exquisitely detailed, with smooth lines, showcasing the outstanding stone carving artistry of ancient laborers and representing a rare masterpiece of Ming Dynasty stone carving art. The northern part of the statues bears the inscription “Erected on the first day of the seventh month in the 40th year of the Wanli era.”
