Pomaoling Geological Park is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The Pomaoling Leisure Ecological Park in Weihui City is situated in Shibaotou Township of Weihui, a historic and cultural city in Henan Province. With a total area of 12,000 mu, it is a national AA-level scenic area, featuring outstanding natural scenery and abundant cultural resources. The park lies 20 kilometers east of National Highway 107, 25 kilometers from the Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway, and is traversed by the Zhaiyang Provincial Road, offering convenient transportation. The area is characterized by rugged mountains, bizarre rock formations, and winding paths. It served as a strategic throat between the Central Plains and other regions and has been an important military site throughout history. Legend has it that Cao Cao of the Three Kingdoms once chose this place to pitch camp; Emperor Zhao Kuangyin passed through here while escorting Lady Jing on a thousand-li journey; Zhu Yuanzhang of the late Yuan Dynasty stationed troops and grazed horses at Pomaoling; the Song Dynasty national hero Yue Fei fought the Jin army at Black Dragon Pool; and the Nian Army recruited militias and launched uprisings here. It is also a veteran revolutionary base. As early as 1943, an anti-Japanese democratic government was established here; Commander Pi Dingjun once led troops to be stationed here, and Wu Jinyin, the contemporary “Servant of the Taihang Mountains,” led the mountain people here in their struggle against nature and in transforming the land.

The park is divided into three main sections: the Pomaoling Grassland at the mountaintop, the ecological garden within the mountain—surrounded by hills on three sides and facing water on one side, resembling a giant armchair in shape—with lush vegetation and diverse wildlife, maintaining excellent natural ecology; and the Bailong Lake at the mountain’s foot, with rippling blue waters covering a maximum surface area of 6 square kilometers, complementing the majestic mountains and ridges. The lake is home to waterfowl such as wild ducks and cranes. In the northeastern corner underwater of Bailong Lake lies the Bailong Pool, which discharges 30,000 cubic meters of water daily, adding much vitality to the lake.

The highlights of the entire park include: scenery characterized by unique and majestic rocky cliffs and vividly shaped rock formations; leisure activities for enjoyment, where visitors can admire green mountains and clear waters, stay in stone cottages and cave dwellings, enjoy farmhouse meals, drink mountain spring water, and participate in activities such as zip-lining, rock climbing, swinging on swings, tightrope walking, crossing suspension bridges, fishing, boating, picking wild fruits, and feeding pigeons.

Shibaotou Township: A township under the jurisdiction of Weihui City. Established as the Shibaotou People's Commune in 1958 and restructured as a township in 1983. Located in the northern part of the city, it is 30.5 kilometers from downtown. The township covers an area of 94 square kilometers with a population of 10,000. Its main river is the Cang River, and it has two reservoirs: Tagang and Shibaotou. The Weihui-Tuchi Highway runs through the area.
