The Hometown of Jiang Taigong Scenic Area is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Hometown of Jiang Taigong Scenic Area was developed and constructed with substantial investment by Henan Zhongping Tourism Culture Development Co., Ltd. The scenic area is located twelve kilometers northwest of Weihui City, Henan Province, on the southeastern foothills of the Taihang Mountains, spanning both Zegongquan Town and Shipibei Township, covering a total area of 48.5 square kilometers.

The Hometown of Jiang Taigong Scenic Area is composed of two major zones: mountainous and plains. The mountainous section features key attractions such as Ying Shen Mountain, Bagua Pavilion, Immortal Peach Garden, Hunyuan Diagram, Azure Dragon Greed, Heavenly Immortal Bridge, Jiang Taigong Cultural Garden, Tan Mountain, Phoenix Mountain, Recumbent Sheep Rock, Xiangquan Temple, Eight Scenic Spots of Xiangquan, Fengshen Valley, Fengshen Platform, Immortal Cave, Ancient Compass, Xianjiazhuang, Taogong Lake, and Huaxia Wantong Stele Forest. Each site boasts a long history and profound cultural heritage, enhanced by the unique landform features of the Taihang Mountains, making it an unforgettable experience for visitors. A visit to this scenic area not only promotes physical wellness but also imparts valuable knowledge and sharpens one’s wisdom. Especially, the classic content of the Jiang Taigong Cultural Garden can inspire the downhearted to rise, motivate the inactive to strive, encourage the defeated to never give up, and remind the successful to stay humble. The main attractions in the plains area include

: Jiang Taigong’s Tomb, Jiang Taigong Temple, Jiang Taigong Ancestral Hall, and Jiang Taigong’s Fishing Spot. This area will be the focus of Phase II development, including the expansion of the Fishing Terrace, the construction of a new Taigong Cultural Square and Sacred Path, transforming the zone into a comprehensive area integrating worship, garden tours, culture, and commercial activities.

The hometown of Jiang Taigong is located fifteen kilometers northwest of the city center. On the third day of the eighth lunar month in 1210 BC, Jiang Taigong was born in Lü Village, Zegongquan, Weihui. Jiang Taigong, also known as Lü Taigong, was named Shang, with the courtesy name Ziya and the alias Fei Xiong. He was a renowned statesman and military strategist during China’s Western Zhou Dynasty.

This legendary historical figure has many recorded names, such as those listed in "Ten Supplements and Corrections to Tables in Records of the Grand Historian and Book of Han": Taigong Wang, Lü Wang, Zhou Wang, Lü Ya, Lü Shang, Jiang Wang, Wang Shang, Shi Wang, Jiang Gong, Jiang Lao, and Lü, among others. The hometown of Jiang Taigong was originally a large settlement of the Jiang clan. A Tang Dynasty tomb stele unearthed in Zegongquan in 1995 recorded that Zegongquan was originally called “Jiang Yuan.”

According to "Bamboo Annals," Jiang Taigong passed away on the twentieth day of the tenth month in the sixth year of King Kang of Zhou. He lived to be 139 years old and was buried in Zegongquan, Weihui. To this day, many historical relics related to Jiang Taigong remain in the Zegongquan area, including the more famous ones such as Jiang Taigong’s Tomb, Jiang Taigong Ancestral Hall, Jiang Taigong Temple, and the Lüwang Tablet of Jiang Taigong.
