Tomb of Li Wen

The Tomb of Li Wen is a cultural relic protection unit of Wen County.

The Tomb of Li Wen is located 9 kilometers north of Wen County in Wenxian, approximately 300 meters southeast of Beileng Village in Beileng Township, and is situated to the south of the Laoh River. It was excavated during the Cultural Revolution, during which a tomb epitaph was discovered before being reburied inside the tomb. According to the epitaph: “Li Wen (1796–1851) passed the imperial examination as the top scholar at the provincial level (Jieyuan) in the Year of Yiyu (1825) during the Daoguang reign, as a Jinshi (advanced scholar) in the Year of Bingxu (1826), was appointed as the magistrate of Yixing County that same year, and later served in a prefectural-level position in Zhili.”
