The Chenjiagou Tai Chi Martial Arts Site is located in the middle section of Qingfeng Ridge, about 5 kilometers east of Wen County. The area boasts a serene environment and simple local customs. Originally called Changyang Village, Chenjiagou was renamed after the Chen family became the dominant clan here. In the early Ming Dynasty, the Chen family, led by Chen Bu, migrated from Shanxi and settled in the area. As the Chen lineage grew over generations, the village’s name was changed to Chenjiagou.

By the end of the Ming Dynasty, Chen Wangting developed Tai Chi martial arts based on ancestral boxing techniques. Over time, it evolved into six major styles: Chen, Yang, Wu (Hao), Wu, Sun, and He. Today, Chenjiagou preserves several historical sites, including the Chen Family Ancestral Hall, Chen Family Cemetery, the site where Yang Luchan studied Tai Chi, the Tomb of Chen Zhaopi, the Donggou Training Ground, and the Xigou Ancient Jujube Tree Training Ground.
