The Wangxue Ruins

The Wangxue Ruins are a cultural heritage site protected by Wen County.

The Wangxue Ruins are located 300 meters south of Wangxue Village, Fantian Town, about 15 kilometers west of Wen County. In 1978, a canal was dug through the center of the ruins, dividing them into northern and southern sections. The terrain slopes gradually from the northwest to the southeast, with the lowest area likely being the bed of an ancient river. The site covers an area of approximately 60,000 square meters. In 1978, pottery fragments, stone tools, and skeletal remains were discovered by locals during canal excavation. During the 1984 cultural relics survey, stone sickles, stone shovels, stone axes, and many pottery rims were found on the site, along with human and animal bones. From the cross-section of the canal, the cultural layer was observed to be 2 meters thick.
