The Site of the Ancient City of Xubao is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

Xubao Site (Neolithic Age)

Located to the east of Xubao Village in Wude Town, about 10 kilometers north of Wen County, it dates from the Longshan Culture period of the Neolithic Age to the late Warring States Period. It was accidentally discovered in July 2006 during cultural relics surveys along the Xubao section of the South-to-North Water Diversion Middle Route Project. Through excavation and comprehensive survey, an ancient city site was found within the site, which was used during the Longshan Culture, Western Zhou, Spring and Autumn, and Warring States periods. The cultural strata are about 4 meters thick, in sequential order: modern plow soil layer, recent and modern red sand layer, Ming and Qing cultural layer, Song Dynasty cultural layer, Han Dynasty cultural layer, Spring and Autumn–Warring States cultural layer, Western Zhou cultural layer, and Longshan Culture layer.

Wude Town: Zhaoxian Township is located on the North China Plain, in the southwest corner of Wen County, known as the "hometown of Tai Chi." It borders the Yellow River to the south and Mengzhou City to the west. It governs 16 administrative villages, covers a total area of 31.14 square kilometers, has a population of 22,000, and 12,750 mu of arable land.

Zhaoxian Township boasts rich cultural heritage and is dotted with scenic historical sites. It is the hometown of Sima Yi, Emperor Xuan of Jin, often referred to as the "Hometown of Sima"; it is also the birthplace of the Wen clan, where the ruins of the ancient State of Wen, the ancient Jin City ruins, and the pottery kiln ruins are preserved.
