In the pine forest opposite the ruins of the Front Mountain Temple stands a stepping stone. Legend has it that Emperor Guangwu of Han, Liu Xiu, and his wife once passed by Yanzi Mountain. They were greeted by a vibrant sea of blooming flowers across the mountain, with fragrant breezes that refreshed their spirits. The lady wished to dismount and admire the scenery of Yanzi Mountain. Seeing her rare moment of poetic fancy, Liu Xiu readily agreed. Noticing a large rock by the roadside, he stepped on it to help his wife dismount. After enjoying the beautiful view, they stepped back onto the horse using the same stone. Their footprints were left deeply imprinted on the rock, and despite thousands of years of wind and rain erosion, the imprints can still be faintly seen today.
