Feng Youlan Memorial Hall, designed in the traditional Chinese courtyard style, vividly recreates the original appearance of Feng Youlan’s former residence in Qiyi Town, Tanghe County, and comprehensively showcases the life and living environment of this renowned philosopher of his generation. It also serves as a meaningful place for visitors to pay tribute to the predecessors and engage in learning and exchange. In this traditional Chinese courtyard, spaces such as the living rooms of Feng Youlan’s parents, and the rooms shared by Feng Youlan and his younger brother Feng Jinglan, have been authentically restored. Meanwhile, exhibits in the Feng Youlan Exhibition Hall present his academic achievements and life journey through photographs, texts, and other materials for future generations.

Feng Youlan (December 4, 1895 ~ November 26, 1990), courtesy name Zhisheng, was a native of Qiyi Town, Tanghe County, Nanyang City, Henan Province. He was a renowned contemporary Chinese philosopher and educator. He graduated from the Philosophy Department of Peking University in 1918 and earned his Ph.D. in Philosophy from Columbia University in the United States in 1924. After returning to China, he served as a professor and head of the Philosophy Department at Tsinghua University, as well as dean of the College of Arts; professor and dean of the College of Arts at the Southwest Associated University; a deputy to the Fourth National People’s Congress; a member of the Second to Fourth National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC); and a standing committee member of the Sixth and Seventh CPPCC National Committees.
