Donggou Scenic Area

Donggou Scenic Area is located in the valley on the eastern side of Mount Jigong, characterized mainly by its waterfalls. Take the cable car for a gentle descent along the valley, then hike through a section of steep pine forest slopes. At the bottom of the valley, there are 19 waterfalls of varying sizes. Unlike post-rainfall waterfalls found elsewhere, these flow year-round, with water volume fluctuating by season. Most are nestled between two embracing mountains, their cliffs covered by dense foliage that almost blocks out the sunlight. The cascading waters plunge down, and from a distance, they resemble graceful maidens in white gowns standing before emerald-green screens. Occasionally, when clouds and mist shroud the cliffs, the water seems to surge out from within the clouds, creating an especially breathtaking scene.

Major attractions include: the aerial cable car, Songlinwan Waterfall, Black Dragon Pool Waterfall, and the Large and Small Dripping Waterfalls.
