Weihai Huaxia City Tourism Scenic Area is a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction.

The Weihai Huaxia City Scenic Area is the central part of the "Huaxia City" project planned and invested in by the Huaxia Group, with a total investment of 5.5 billion yuan. The Huaxia City project covers a total area of 16.28 square kilometers and is planned to include functional areas such as the Oriental Culture Zone, Service Center Zone, Golden Town, Wellness Zone, Shangri-La, Red Sacred Site, Health & Sports Zone, Adventure Mountain, VIP Zone, and Folk Culture Zone. Construction began in 2007, and it is expected to be fully completed by 2017. Upon completion, it will become a modern tourism new city integrating comprehensive functions such as tourism, leisure, commerce, residence, and education. The Huaxia City Scenic Area lies to the east of the sea and to the west of Longshan Mountain, featuring continuous lush peaks and the vast, deep sea, exuding a charming romantic mountain and sea charm. It is a new type of eco-tourism resort that combines classical and modern elements, as well as nature and technology.

Currently open, the Oriental Culture Zone spans over 2,700 acres and features more than ten attractions including China’s widest archway — the No.1 Archway of Huaxia (86 meters long and 21 meters high), the world’s unique Three-sided Holy Water Guanyin (cast in bronze, weighing 78 tons), Xia Garden showcasing the cultural essence of the Xia Yu era — the ancestor of Huaxia, and Jiaodong’s largest temple with a history of over 1,300 years — Taiping Chan Temple. There are also a variety of traditional performances such as acrobatics, equestrian shows, and Shaolin martial arts. In 2010, the Weihai Huaxia City Tourism Scenic Area was rated as a national AAAA-level tourist attraction. In 2011, it was shortlisted for “China’s Top Ten Most Potential Theme Parks,” won the “Best Creative Industry Park Award in China” in the same year, and was rated as one of the first batch of Shandong Province Cultural Industry Demonstration Parks by the Shandong Provincial Department of Culture.

The world’s first 360-degree panoramic live-action performance — "Shen You Huaxia" (Journey Through Huaxia) — is the soul of the Huaxia City Scenic Area. Jointly launched by the Shandong Provincial Tourism Bureau and the People's Government of Weihai City, and invested in by the Weihai Huaxia City Tourism Group with 410 million yuan, this outdoor live-action tourist performance was created in collaboration with renowned director Zhao An. It pioneers the combination of natural and cultural landscapes in live-action performances. The show unfolds through seven chapters — "The Creation of Heaven and Earth," "Tracing Our Roots," "Harmony Between Heaven and Earth," "Shangri-La," "Regional Charms of China," "Descendants of the Dragon," and "Prosperous Peace" — along with seven real mountain-and-water stage transformations, deeply showcasing the profound and extensive Huaxia civilization. Audiences ride on the world’s first rotating and moving giant wheel seating system to enjoy a spectacular 360-degree, all-directional audiovisual feast across time and space. The Qilu Evening News praised it as “the most stunning tourism performance in Shandong,” and it was awarded the 2010 “Brand Shandong” Tourism Performance Innovation Award and shortlisted for “China’s Top Ten Most Potential Live-Action Theme Performances” in 2011. The success of the "Shen You Huaxia" live-action performance not only pioneered a wonderful and dreamlike night cultural and entertainment journey in the Jiaodong Peninsula region but also played a positive role in promoting and leading the high-standard development of landscape performances and cultural journeys in northern China. It has become a beautiful city calling card for Jiaodong tourism.
