Guide Eight Treasures can be found at Cloud Light Cave: a ginkgo tree, a creeping vine, a saltwater cave, Dragon Spring Well, the Immortal Bridge, a stone-carved tomb, an itchy tree, and a Bodhisattva Temple—hence also known as the Eight-Treasure Cloud Light Cave. The Taoist classic Investiture of the Gods provides a detailed and vivid description of Cloud Light Cave. Historical records indicate that during the Dading era of the Jin Dynasty, after Yuyang became a disciple of Wang Chongyang, he came to Cloud Light Cave to study Quanzhen Taoism and founded the Kunshan Sect of the Quanzhen School. The renowned Cloud Light Collection was written here in Cloud Light Cave. Although centuries have passed, the three large characters “Cloud Light Cave” carved into the rock face in front of the cave remain remarkably clear. Thus, Cloud Light Cave is recognized as the birthplace of the Kunshan Sect of the Quanzhen School of Taoism. Visiting Cloud Light Cave holds significant practical value for understanding the history of Taoism in China.

Introduction Cloud Light Cave is located on a flat area in front of Longjing Peak within the Chashan Scenic Area. The surroundings here are tranquil and serene. To the west flows a crystal-clear stream with murmuring waters that run year-round. To the north are jagged rocks and pine trees, to the east lies a deep ravine, and to the south stretches the vast, boundless sea.
