Marine Park

Marine Park is situated on the east side of Crown Community in Weihai Economic and Technological Development Zone, bordering Weihai Park to the north. The total planned area spans 217 hectares and consists of six parts: an amusement park, an artificial lake, a rockery garden, a forest ecological park, a seawater bathing beach, and Jiulongwan Tourist Resort. The amusement park and artificial lake zones began construction in March 1999, covering an area of 134,000 square meters — including 60,000 square meters of green space, 20,000 square meters of paved areas, and a lake surface of 54,000 square meters. The park officially opened to the public on October 21, 1999, marking the seventh anniversary of the development zone's establishment.

Marine Park is designed around three main functions: maritime culture, eco-tourism, and leisure vacation. It aims to build high-quality, first-class facilities, drawing inspiration from domestic and international sources, blending Eastern and Western elements to create a uniquely self-designed and developed landscape. This approach has given rise to a distinctive greening style. The northern part of the amusement area features lush green lawns, blooming flowers, winding paths, and chasing deer, presenting a pastoral scene. The central section showcases an elegantly designed European-style "Pioneer Gate," symbolizing the pioneering and enterprising spirit of the development zone. The southern lake area offers arched bridges, rippling waters, and anglers, giving visitors the impression of being in the water towns of southern China.

The second phase of Marine Park will include the construction of a rockery garden, forest ecological park, seawater bathing beach, and Jiulongwan Tourist Resort. Once completed, the entire park will span 2 square kilometers and feature six functionally diverse and uniquely themed zones. It will become a large-scale marine recreational complex integrating leisure activities, children’s entertainment, eco-tourism, vacation travel, and maritime culture.

With its innovative design and high-standard construction, Marine Park has attracted numerous leaders and tourists. It has become an iconic and premium project of the development zone, nominated for the Shandong Province Outstanding Engineering Design Award. It was also featured by Shandong Landscape Magazine as one of the top three newly built parks in the province in 1999.

Take bus No. 39 within the city and get off at Crown Community Station, then walk about 600 meters to reach the park.
