Xiaohuliang Bridge is situated on the Huliang River, south of Xiaohuliang Village, Dongxianpo Town, about 4 kilometers north of Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province. It lies roughly 2 kilometers north of Yongji Bridge. Originally constructed in the second year of the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty (1574 AD), there are no historical records of any major restorations. The bridge is a single-lane, five-arch stone structure, 69 meters long and 9.14 meters wide, with railings and balusters on both sides of the deck. The drum stones at both ends have been lost. It was once part of the Beijing-Baoding highway, but in 1987, the road was rerouted, and the bridge was preserved as a cultural relic.

During the Chinese Civil War, Xiaohuliang Bridge was even blown up at one point. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, partial repairs were carried out in 1954. The stele pavilion at the southern end of the bridge was demolished during the Cultural Revolution. In 1993, Xiaohuliang Bridge was designated as a Cultural Relics Protection Unit of Hebei Province. The protected area extends 45 meters outward from the bridge’s northern and southern edges, and 10 meters outward to the east and west from the centerline of the bridge deck. The construction control zone extends an additional 20 meters outward in all directions from the boundary of the protected area. Currently, the bridge remains structurally sound and is still in use, a testament to the remarkable bridge-building craftsmanship of ancient times. In 2013, it was included in the seventh batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.
