Yanxia Capital

Yanxia Capital is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

Commonly known as Yanxia Capital, the Lower Capital of the Yan State was the capital city of the Yan State during the Warring States period. It is located 12 Chinese miles southeast of Yixian County, situated between the North Yi River and the Middle Yi River. It is one of China’s more intact and culturally rich large-scale ruins of a Warring States period capital. The ancient capital is irregularly rectangular in shape, stretching 8 kilometers from east to west and 4–6 kilometers from north to south, covering a total area of over 40 square kilometers. It is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit. There are eight scenic spots in Yanxia Capital. Within the compound of the Yanxia Capital Cultural Relics Protection Office, there is an exhibition room covering approximately 40 square meters, displaying over 200 cultural relics from the Yan State.
