Yi County Museum

Yi County is a historic and culturally rich ancient county with a history of thousands of years. The Yi County Museum is an important showcase for presenting the history and culture of Yi County.

The Yi County Museum is located in the western part of Yi County. The building is a single three-story rectangular structure, with a total construction area of 4,100 square meters and an exhibition area of over 3,000 square meters. The permanent exhibition is the Yi County General History Exhibition, themed “The Eternal Song of the Yi River.” It is divided into eight sections: Traces of Early Inhabitants, Elegance of the Yan State, The System of Commanderies and Counties, A Land of Strategic Passes and Blessings, Majestic Mountains and Rivers, Chasing Dreams, Legacy of Yizhou Culture, and Treasures of Yizhou. The exhibition route spans over 500 meters and displays more than 500 sets of cultural relics. In addition to the permanent exhibition, there are also temporary exhibition halls and interactive areas.

The Yi County Museum narrates the 8,000-year history of human civilization along the banks of the Yi River, and envisions a bright future of a well-off society on the ancient land of Yan.
