Donglu Ruins

The Donglu Ruins are a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Shandong Province.

The Donglu Ruins are cultural remains from the Shang-Zhou, Han, and Northern and Southern Dynasties periods, located in Donglu Village, Caowang Town, Boxing County. Artifacts collected at the site include undecorated li rims made of coarse black pottery from the Shang-Zhou period, li rims with corded patterns made of coarse gray pottery, li feet, gray clay dou plates and handles, as well as gray clay jar rims and cosmetic box bodies from the Han Dynasty. A temple was once built on the site but has since been destroyed. Stone Buddhist statues from the Northern Dynasties, red clay jar rims, and fragments of roof tiles have also been unearthed here. In June 1992, it was announced as part of the second batch of provincial-level cultural heritage protection units.

Donglu Village: Located 15 kilometers southeast of Boxing County’s county seat, 3 kilometers north of Caowang (the town center), and 1.5 kilometers from National Highway 205, Donglu Village enjoys convenient transportation and a prime location. It currently has a population of 5,400, with 1,560 households, 7,213 mu of arable land, 87 Party members, and 165 village representatives. In 2010, Donglu Village was honored as an “Advanced Militia Company” in Boxing County.
