Cungao Site

The Cungao Site is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Shandong Province.

The Cungao Site belongs to the Longshan, Shang-Zhou, and Han Dynasty cultures. It is located in Cungao Village, Xingfu Town, Boxing County. The collected artifacts mainly consist of pottery shards from the Longshan culture, such as red sandy pottery and black sandy pottery, with decorative patterns including string patterns and appliqué ridges. Identifiable vessel forms include jars and tripods, as well as Shang-Zhou period red sandy pottery li tripod rims with rope patterns, gray clay gui vessels, and Han Dynasty items such as gray clay basin rims, pot rims, and white clay pot rims. In June 1992, it was announced as part of the second batch of provincial-level cultural heritage protection units.

Xingfu Town: Known as the "Kitchen Capital of China," Xingfu was approved as a "Central Town" by the Shandong Provincial People's Government in 2008. Covering a total area of 51 square kilometers, it governs 5 communities (offices) and 36 administrative villages, with a total population of 62,000. It borders Dongying to the east, Binzhou to the north, and Zibo to the south. As a distinctive economic town within the Yellow River Delta Efficient Eco-Economic Development Zone and the Shandong Peninsula Blue Economic Zone, it is also the largest production base of stainless steel kitchenware in China and the biggest wholesale and processing hub for black and white iron products north of the Yangtze River.
