Dong Yong Shrine
The Dong Yong Shrine is a cultural relic protection unit of Boxing County.
The Dong Yong Shrine is located east of Dongjia Village, Chenhu Town, Boxing County. Built during the Qing Dynasty and later restored in modern times, the shrine faces south with a six-rafter front-eave corridor structure and a flush-gable roof. It is three bays wide, 9 meters in length, with the main entrance in the center, and 5 meters deep. The lower part of the walls is built with blue bricks, while the upper part uses adobe, topped with gray clay tiles. The main ridge and hip ridges of the roof originally featured decorations such as dragons, phoenixes, figures, and floral patterns, most of which are now damaged. The interior walls and roof frames of the shrine bear colored paintings, many of which are covered by plaster, with some vibrant colors still visible in exposed sections, though partially peeling. In 2007, the county government allocated funds to renovate the roof, and the site has since been designated as a county-level key cultural relic protection unit.
