Wang Wen Memorial Martyrs' Pavilion

In the autumn of 1945, the Boxing County Government and local residents built this pavilion to commemorate the 21 martyrs of the Eighth Route Army who sacrificed their lives during the anti-Japanese battle in Wangwen Village. The pavilion is square-shaped, standing 5 meters tall with each side measuring 3 meters. It features a brick-and-wood structure and a four-cornered pyramidal roof. Each of its four sides is inscribed with a standing stone stele, all 1.4 meters high and 0.64 meters wide. The stele on the south side is engraved with the words “Spirit Immortal”; the north side bears an inscription recounting the details of the Wangwen battle, written by Ma Qianli and calligraphed by Jia Yizhai; the east side records the year and month the pavilion was erected; and the west side lists the names of the martyrs. The memorial pavilion is surrounded by a brick flower wall enclosure, 1.8 meters high and 12 meters per side, with a gate on the south side.
