Liu'an Site

The Liu'an Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Shandong Province.

The Liu'an Site is located 300 meters north of Liu'an Village on Yancheng Subdistrict. Originally, it measured 100 meters east-west and 80 meters north-south, covering an area of 8,000 square meters. Due to continuous soil extraction by villagers, it is now a raised platform about 1.5 meters above the ground, measuring 24 meters east-west and 32 meters north-south, with a current area of 768 square meters. It is protected by an iron fence. The southern side of the site features a clear cultural stratum in the exposed cliff face, where remains such as burned soil and ash have been found. Artifacts collected include fragments of sandy, cord-marked li tripod legs and clay bean handles from the Shang and Zhou periods, along with clam shells, a small number of stone tools, animal bones, and deer antlers. The site dates back approximately 2,000 to 3,500 years. In April 2005, it was designated as one of the first municipal-level cultural heritage protection units by the Dezhou Municipal People's Government.

Yancheng Subdistrict: Yancheng Town is the county seat, comprising 138 administrative villages with a total population of 76,000, covering an area of 184.5 square kilometers and 138,000 mu of arable land.
