Maguantun Site

The Maguantun Site is a cultural heritage site protected by Dezhou City.

The Maguantun Site is located 1,000 meters west of Maguantun Village, Huguantun Town. It stretches 91 meters from east to west and 42 meters from north to south, covering a total area of 3,822 square meters. The terrain is relatively flat, with an earthen road and a ditch running through the central-southern part of the site from east to west. The area consists of grayish soil and is currently used as farmland. The surface and exposed strata contain a large number of pottery and porcelain shards, mostly dating back to the Xia, Shang, Zhou, Han, and Song dynasties. These include leg supports and rims of ancient cooking vessels (li), net sinkers, bone tools, broken roof tiles, and polished stone arrowheads shaped like three terraces. Analysis of the collected samples indicates that the relics belong to the Longshan Culture period. In April 2011, it was designated as part of the second batch of municipal-level cultural heritage protection sites by the Dezhou Municipal People's Government.
