Dezhou Yellow River Water Conservancy Scenic Area is a national water conservancy scenic area.

Dezhou Yellow River Water Conservancy Scenic Area is located in Qihe County, Dezhou City, Shandong Province, and is built around the Nantan Dangerous Section of the Yellow River.

The scenic area is a natural river and lake-type water conservancy area, covering 184 square kilometers, of which 75 square kilometers are water surfaces. The winding course of the Yellow River here creates the world-famous wonder of a “second-level suspended river,” inspiring the poetic vision that “the waters of the Yellow River descend from the sky.” The area features majestic embankments and dams, often referred to as the “Great Wall on Water.” Other renowned sights include the Yellow River sunset, vast frozen landscapes, and the spectacular ice breakup in spring. The scenic area boasts a sound ecological environment, rich biodiversity, and profound historical and cultural heritage. It is one of the birthplaces of Yellow River culture and Qi culture. Built with an ecological philosophy and a focus on cultural depth, it has become an effective showcase of the Yellow River’s grandeur. Integrated into the overall plan of Qihe County’s ASEAN International Eco-City, the scenic area plays a key role in regional tourism development and holds significant growth potential.
