Yintun Cultural Site

The Yintun Cultural Site is a protected cultural heritage site of Shandong Province.

The Yintun Cultural Site is situated 1,000 meters south of Maoguantun Village on Yancheng Street. It has an irregular terrace shape, stretching 52 meters at its longest from east to west, 40 meters from north to south, covering a total area of 1,774 square meters, with its highest point 5 meters above the ground. Cultural strata are visible in the fault lines, and the surface is strewn with a large number of pottery and clam shell fragments. In some spots, layers about one meter thick composed of pottery shards are exposed, including beanpot handles, li tripod feet, beanpot bases, and eggshell-thin pottery pieces. To the south of the site, a small brick-chambered tomb was excavated, yielding artifacts such as gray pottery jars, tripods, stone shovels, clam shell spoons, and fragments of eggshell pottery. Research indicates that this site dates back to the Longshan Culture period, spanning from the late Neolithic Age through the Shang, Zhou, and Han dynasties — roughly 5,000 to 2,000 years ago. In June 1992, it was designated as part of the second batch of Provincial-Level Protected Cultural Heritage Sites by the People's Government of Shandong Province.
