Shuicheng Square

Shuicheng Square is located on the north bank of Dongchang Lake in Liaocheng, bordered to the south by the vast expanse of Dongchang Lake, to the north by Liaocheng’s busiest Dongchang Road, to the west by the vibrant Dongchang Lake Amusement Park, and to the east by the elegant and classic Canal Museum. Covering an area of 105,000 square meters with a total construction investment of 23.7 million yuan.

The square includes eight large activity venues and over 40 leisure areas, featuring a nearly 2,000-square-meter sunken central plaza, a dry fountain plaza, a glass corridor, a waterside pavilion corridor, and a 20-meter-high observation tower. It is adorned with architectural ornaments, rockeries, and pebble-paved paths, all meticulously crafted with unique artistry. Eight vivid large-scale cultural reliefs depict themes from Liaocheng’s folk culture and notable figures. The square is filled with green trees, red flowers, pavilions, waterside structures, an inner river with fountains, and bridges with reliefs, fully showcasing the distinctive charm of a water city, a comfortable ecological space, and a harmonious humanistic environment. It is a great destination for locals to relax and enjoy leisure activities.

An inner river, connected to Dongchang Lake, encircles the entire square, allowing pleasure boats to sail directly from the lake into the square. The winding inner river, stretching about a kilometer, divides the square into three main sections: the entrance plaza, the central island, and the recreational activity area.

The square features small bridges over flowing water, pavilions and towers, rockeries and waterfalls, as well as lush greenery and blooming flowers, attracting numerous visitors and locals daily for strolling, relaxing, and recreation. Major attractions within the square include: the sunken central plaza, the relief wall, the glass corridor, the vine garden, the Rouge Lake, the waterside pavilion corridor, the musical fountain, the crystal tunnel, and the observation tower. It is a comprehensive, modern garden-style plaza that integrates culture, entertainment, leisure, and sightseeing.
