Eye of the Water City
The Eye of the Water City is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.
The Liaocheng "Eye of the Water City" Ferris wheel is situated in the administrative and business center of the city's southern new district, on the southern shore of the national scenic area—Dongchang Lake. It has a total construction area of about 80,000 square meters, with one underground level, 13 above-ground levels, and 14 floors in total. The ride equipment reaches a height of 130 meters, making it one of the three tallest Ferris wheels in Asia and the world’s first urban landmark that combines architecture with a Ferris wheel.
The Liaocheng Ferris wheel is the world’s first urban landmark that integrates architecture with a Ferris wheel. The landmark Ferris wheel in Liaocheng has a diameter of 110 meters, with its lowest point 20 meters above the ground and its highest point reaching 130 meters. It is China’s only cable-stayed Ferris wheel with a 110-meter diameter. The wheel is equipped with 42 cylindrical gondolas, each capable of carrying six passengers, for a total capacity of 252 people. It is reported that many of its technologies and installation techniques are pioneering both nationally and globally.

The Ferris wheel integrates an international academic exchange center with a massive Ferris wheel, making it the world’s first urban landmark to combine architecture with a Ferris wheel. This architectural design is unique both in China and around the world. It is understood that once operational, visitors can take the Ferris wheel up to a height of 150 meters, looking north to Dongchang Lake and south to Phoenix Lake, enjoying a panoramic view of the entire Water City.
