Gujundian Site

The Gujundian Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Shandong Province.

The Gujundian Site is located in Gujundian Village, Jiangguantun Subdistrict, Liaocheng Economic Development Zone. The site stretches 220 meters from north to south and approximately 300 meters from east to west, covering a total area of about 66,000 square meters. The cultural layer at the Gujundian Site is about 2 meters thick, with soft soil containing a large number of pottery shards from various periods. The pottery is predominantly gray, with a small amount of black pottery. The pottery is mainly made of fine clay, with some sandy clay mixed in, and some pieces also contain clam shells. All pottery items were wheel-made, and aside from some polished pieces, the decorative patterns are primarily basket weave and cord marks. Recognizable vessel types include tripods, steamers, bean-shaped vessels, bowls, and cauldrons.

The Gujundian Site has a long history and holds significant value for the study of the culture in the Liaocheng area from the Longshan period to the Warring States period.

In 2013, the Gujundian Site was designated as part of the fourth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage protection units by the People's Government of Shandong Province.

Jiangguantun Subdistrict: Jiangguantun Subdistrict is located in the eastern suburbs of Liaocheng and serves as a satellite city of Liaocheng, as well as a window for the development zone’s opening up. The subdistrict office is just 1 kilometer from the exit of the Jiliao Expressway in the development zone. It is intersected by the eastern outer ring road of Liaocheng and the Liaochi Highway, giving it a prime location and convenient transportation. The subdistrict currently administers 47 administrative villages, with a permanent population of 32,000 and a floating population of 10,000, covering a planned area of 42.23 square kilometers.
