Ruins of the Ancient Jiao State Capital

The ruins of the ancient Jiao State capital are a cultural heritage protection site of Shandong Province.

The ruins of the ancient Jiao State capital are located in Jiaocheng Village, Zhujie Village, Zhangjie Village, and Majie Village, Zhifang Town, Jiaxiang County. They date back to the Zhou Dynasty. On December 7, 2006, the ruins were designated as part of the third batch of provincial-level cultural heritage protection units by the People's Government of Shandong Province.

Zhifang Town: Located 30 kilometers southwest of Jining City, Zhifang Town covers a total area of 96 square kilometers. It administers 51 administrative villages, with a population of 19,000 households, 83,000 people, and 68,000 mu of arable land. To the north lies the Rihé Expressway, while the Xinshi Railway runs east-west and Provincial Highway Jiajin stretches from north to south. Jining Airport is also situated within the town. The area spans three major rivers — the Zhushui River, the Zhu-Zhao New River, and the Cai River — facilitating convenient transportation by land, water, and air. The region boasts abundant natural and tourism resources, including 48 hills of varying sizes, forming the only small hill cluster in southwestern Shandong.
