The Fushan National Defense Education Base is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The Fushan Outdoor Expansion Training Base is located in Zhifang Town, about 10 kilometers from the county town. It enjoys an advantageous location and beautiful surroundings, nestled within mountainous terrain, covering a total area of over 500 acres. Initially divided into three zones—A, B, and C—the CB zones were developed first. The overall plan focuses on farming, national defense, and sports culture programs, combined with hands-on comprehensive quality education. With sports as the foundation, training and experience as the methods, and insight as the goal, it aims to improve psychological resilience. Thus, it enables teams and students to understand national defense and develop a love for their country through experience, enhancing pride and confidence in the nation. At the same time, it serves as an important pathway for groups and students to form correct interpersonal, emotional, and social values among other educational objectives. Zone B has now been designated as a AAA-level scenic area, a Shandong Province Science Education Base, a Jining City Legal Awareness Education Base, a Jining City Patriotic Education Base, a Jining City Cultural Industry Demonstration Area, and an on-site teaching base for the Jiaxiang County Committee Party School of the CPC; Jiaxiang Science Popularization Workstation; and a base for the Jiaxiang New Social Strata Federation.

The Fushan CB zone covers an area of over 300 acres. Its design and planning incorporate the strengths of peer institutions across the country, innovating and breaking away from the traditional model of national defense education bases that focus solely on observation without physical activity. Characterized by prioritizing “action,” it is a comprehensive practical activity base integrating farming and military education with experience at its core. It can accommodate 660 people for dining simultaneously and house over 500 people in barracks. During this period, leaders from provincial, municipal, and county governments as well as military districts have highly praised the project, affirming that Fushan is the pioneering and most interactive research-and-study educational practice base in China. It has achieved full functionality, becoming a research-and-study educational practice base for government personnel, social groups, and primary and secondary school students, with an annual capacity to receive over 1 million visitors.

Fushan has developed the following three major sectors:

1. Zone A – Sports and Athletics Sector: Includes an international-grade A go-kart track; football field, basketball court, artificial skateboarding wave pool, etc.; supplemented by children’s sports experiences, jungle ziplining, mountain loop rafting, and other activities.

2. Zone B – National Defense Education Sector: Focuses on topics such as military training, combat special training, shooting on the move, urban warfare confrontations, military camp expansion activities, red-vs-blue position battles, and heavy weapon exhibitions (featuring large transport aircraft, artillery, tanks, fighter jets), centered around “national defense combat skills and knowledge education.” Supplementary features include patriotic and legal awareness education corridors, science and law education exhibition boards; indoor and outdoor swimming pools, jungle obstacle courses, and more.

3. Zone C – Farming Culture Sector: Features a series of “labor technology education” programs, primarily including cultivation, gardening, animal husbandry, farming, and fishing courses.

The three major curriculum sectors of Fushan have gradually built up the project’s complete system of practical courses.

The goal of the Fushan Outdoor Expansion Base is to become the “home base” for research-and-study practice activities for government agencies, social groups, and primary and secondary schools. It establishes a positive interactive platform where various sports experiences and practical educational activities can help participants gain a holistic understanding of themselves, nature, and society, enhance overall quality, and develop essential abilities to contribute to the nation.

Fushan is a form of comprehensive practical education, evolving from traditional expansion training. Promoted through unique creativity and training methods, it extends its audience from students to soldiers, government agencies, and business groups. It is also a large-scale, high-quality comprehensive education zone integrating military education, sports, science education, and interactive experiences. It stands as the most distinctive experience-themed, high-tech education base in China and is committed to becoming a model zone for experiential research-and-study educational activities in our country!!
