Wenshang Lotus Lake Wetland Scenic Area

The Wenshang Lotus Lake Wetland Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The Wenshang County Lotus Lake Wetland Water Conservancy Scenic Area is located 1 kilometer north of Wenshang County along Hubin Avenue. It is built around the old and new Quanhe rivers, Zhongdu Reservoir, and Lotus Lake Wetland Park, and is classified as a wetland-type water conservancy scenic area. The total area of the scenic zone is 2.91 square kilometers, including 1.33 square kilometers of water area.

The scenic area consists of two parts: the Zhongdu Reservoir section and the Lotus Lake Wetland section. Zhongdu Reservoir has a total storage capacity of 7.837 million cubic meters and serves as the main water replenishment source for the Lotus Lake Wetland. The scenic area boasts distinctive natural and cultural landscapes. It features well-arranged waterside platforms, poetic lakeside wetlands, uniquely designed sculpture installations, and picturesque streams and rivers. The terrain varies with undulating plains, rolling micro-landscapes, and wetland ecological island chains. There is also a large waterfall in the area, and inside the mountain, there is a simulated karst cave where modern lighting, sound, and electrical effects create wonders such as Starry Skies, Magic Light Fantasies, Flames on Red Rocks, and an Ice Age World. The area also includes cultural attractions such as the Zhongdu Folk Museum, which is the largest, most exhibit-rich, and most distinctive folk culture-themed exhibition hall in Shandong Province.

The scenic area has been successively rated as a National AAAA-level Tourist Attraction, a Provincial Wetland Park, a Provincial Water Conservancy Scenic Area, and was approved as a National Water Conservancy Scenic Area in 2016.
