Nanwang Hub Site Archaeological Park

The Nanwang Hub Site Archaeological Park is a national AAA-level tourist attraction and a cultural tourism destination.

In October 2010, the Nanwang Hub Archaeological Site Park, located at the site of the Nanwang Town government, was designated as one of the first 23 national archaeological site parks. Taking the opportunity to host activities related to the main venue city of China's Cultural Heritage Day in 2011, major archaeological excavations and the restoration and emergency repair of ancient buildings were carried out at the Grand Canal's Nanwang Hub large site, along with the construction of the Grand Canal Science and Technology Museum and hydraulic models, which comprehensively reflect and showcase the natural landscape and historical culture of the Grand Canal. In December 2012, the Nanwang Grand Canal Hub Site Park was successfully established as a national 3A-level tourist attraction and is set to become an important historical and cultural tourism destination along the canal, integrating archaeological research, sightseeing, education, and scientific research.

Nanwang Town: Located in the southwest of Wenshang, Nanwang Town borders the ancient city of Wenshang to the east, Jiaxiang to the west, Shuiboliangshan (Mount Liang) to the north, and Rencheng District to the south. The town has a population of 57,000 and covers a total area of 59.3 square kilometers. It boasts a well-connected transportation network: the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal runs through from north to south, while the provincial highways Jiliang and Wenjin traverse the entire town. It lies 10 kilometers south of the Rizhao–Yantai Expressway and 30 kilometers from the Beijing–Shanghai and Beijing–Kowloon railways as well as Jining Airport. The installed capacity of program-controlled telephones has reached 4,000 lines, and the town has 60 kilometers of rural roads.
