Bai Dian Site

The Bai Dian Site is a cultural heritage site protected at the municipal level in Jining.

The Bai Dian Site is located east of Bai Dian Village, Yiqiao Town, Wenshang County. It dates back to the Dawenkou, Yueshi, and Longshan cultures and is classified as an ancient site.

On March 8, 1986, the Bai Dian Site was designated as a municipal-level cultural heritage site under the jurisdiction of Jining City.

Yiqiao Town: Yiqiao Township is situated in the southeastern part of Wenshang County, the ancient central capital. It borders Mount Tai to the north, Weishan Lake to the south, Qufu—the hometown of Confucius—to the east, and the Water Margin Liangshan region to the west. Covering a total area of 68.6 square kilometers, it governs 40 administrative villages with a population of 45,000 and 69,000 mu of arable land. It was liberated in 1948 and came under the administration of the Second District. In 1956, it was divided between Yiqiao Township and Zhangwu Township. In 1958, it became part of Nanzhan People’s Commune. In 1962, Yiqiao Commune was established, which was restructured into Yiqiao District in 1984 and changed to Yiqiao Township in 1986.
