West Lake Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial Pavilion

The West Lake Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial Pavilion was originally a martyrs' cemetery pavilion, located on the south bank of the Gula River, 100 meters directly east of the Heroes Pavilion. It stood 15 meters tall, constructed with blue bricks and cement in a three-tiered design. Due to years of weathering, erosion by wind and rain, as well as the impact of natural disasters such as earthquakes, it had collapsed by 1992. In early 1992, the county party committee and government called on the people of the entire county to donate funds for the renovation and expansion of the martyrs' cemetery. At the same time, the martyrs' cemetery pavilion was rebuilt and renamed the Memorial Pavilion. In 2008, the cemetery was further expanded and the memorial pavilion was renovated again, and it was then renamed the Haoran Pavilion. The Haoran Pavilion is a two-story, antique-style octagonal pavilion with a reinforced concrete structure, standing 18 meters tall. Its roof is covered with green glazed tiles, symbolizing the grass-green military caps worn by the martyrs; its eight pillars stand tall and proud, representing the unyielding spirit of the martyrs; and the central spiral staircase symbolizes the hardships and challenges of the revolutionary journey. The Haoran Pavilion stands tall, majestic, and imposing.
