Longyuan Gorge

Longyuan Gorge is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Known as the "Amazon of the East" and China’s "Jiuzhaigou Valley," the Yongxiu Yunshan Longyuan Gorge Scenic Area will host the "Double Ninth Filial Piety Festival" from October 16 to 25, 2010. During the event, seniors aged 55 and above, as well as children between 1.2 and 1.5 meters tall, will enjoy special discounted tickets, while children under 1.2 meters will be admitted free of charge. During the festival, the scenic area will also offer activities such as boating with family and friends, fishing for all ages, family barbecues, rural entertainment, butterfly watching, and chestnut picking. Travel agencies will also launch special one-day tours to Longyuan Gorge for orange picking.

Waterfront Adventure Exciting and Thrilling: At the People’s Joy Amusement Park beside the stream at the entrance of the scenic area, stepping on a traditional farm waterwheel offers the joy of the countryside, while walking across the water plum blossom piles provides a refreshing aquatic experience. There are also dozens of thrilling yet safe amusement facilities that can be enjoyed year-round, including water chain bridges, water swing bridges, water log bridges, water pulleys, water rollers, water pedal flyers, water roller flyers, water pontoon flyers, water river dragons, as well as grassland rollers, grassland swing bridges, grassland log bridges, grassland climbing ladders, grassland climbing poles, and grassland seesaws. These attractions deliver endless excitement and the thrill of challenging oneself and conquering Olympic-style obstacles.

Bamboo Raft Racing Romantic and Scenic: In the picturesque Shuangyan Sea, visitors can cross the thrilling yet safe aerial suspension bridge or stroll along the relaxing water pontoon bridge, passing by the sacred Wanshou Mountain on the way to Qianfutan. Here, they can not only experience the sanctity and mystery of the primeval forest but also invite family and friends to board bamboo rafts, paddle across Shuangyan Sea, race beneath the Lover’s Bridge, explore the water forest, play in the waters near Sanxing Ridge, or fish along the winding coastline.

Forest Sports Fun and Games: The Qianfutan Primeval Forest, with its ancient trees, creeping wisteria, babbling streams, and flocks of birds, is not only reputed as the "Amazon of the East" but also features a variety of forest sports facilities—such as inclined forest plank walkways, iron chain spring bridges, swing side bridges, and hanging ladders—that offer both thrilling and leisurely experiences. These allow visitors to enjoy the excitement and joy of forest sports. Guests can also walk on the soft sandy bottom of the crystal-clear streams, pick colorful pebbles, catch shrimp and crabs, watch fish play in the water, and listen to birds singing joyfully.

Butterfly and Dragonfly Watching Fun for All Ages: The lush forests and humid climate of Longyuan Gorge provide an abundance of host and nectar plants ideal for butterflies, resulting in thousands of butterflies growing, breeding, flying, and playing here. At the same time, countless dragonflies dance among the woods, grasslands, water edges, and flower clusters. In the beautiful Butterfly Valley, butterfly watching, butterfly chasing, and dragonfly catching offer unique joys that children rarely experience elsewhere.

Camping and Barbecues Reliving the Past: Beside the sacred, mystical Qianfutan Primeval Forest, on the wildflower meadows by the serene Bailuw Bay, and amidst the pavilions and pavilions of the People’s Joy Amusement Park, there are vast grassy areas and bubbling streams. Transportation: From Nanchang (or Jiujiang), take the Changjiu Expressway and exit at the "Aicheng" toll station – turn left toward Qiujin – after about 1 km past the Yunshan Reclamation Farm, turn right to reach the site directly (total distance approximately 90–96 km).
